The House We Live In: Race and Urban Development in Metro
Detroit
The event is
part of ACCESS's Building Capacity Through
Diversity Project. They will show the film “The House We Live
In” (episode 3 of the series Race: the Power of an Illusion),
which is historical in nature and follows the role that race has
played in our country throughout the last century, especially
after WWII, in the development of suburbs, urban housing, and
transportation. It also examines how federal policies
played a role in creating the urban-suburban racial divide that
characterizes so many metropolitan areas' land use patterns and
development. Contact
ACCESS for more information.
